Introduction
This two-bedroom apartment is home to a couple and their teenage son. Both father and son enjoy video gaming and wanted a comfortable living room where they could play together and spend family time.
The original living and dining area was long and narrow with limited storage, often feeling cluttered as gaming equipment and household items increased. Through a modern wood minimalist design with custom cabinetry and thoughtful space planning, the apartment was transformed into a warm and functional home with a dedicated family gaming space.

Spatial Design Strategies
The design focuses on creating a family entertainment space, preserving a generous open area in the center of the living room while minimizing unnecessary furniture. This allows the father and son to comfortably enjoy video gaming and daily interaction together.
A full-height wooden slatted TV feature wall becomes the visual focal point, with vertical lines enhancing the sense of ceiling height while concealing wiring and entertainment equipment behind the panels for a clean appearance.
Below the TV, a floating media console with slatted cabinet doors houses gaming devices and electronics while allowing ventilation. On the opposite side, a full-height custom storage cabinet extends toward the dining area, maximizing storage while maintaining a cohesive wall design. Light wood finishes and warm lighting create a welcoming and relaxing family atmosphere.
