Property Features: 2 Bedrooms · 1 Bathroom · Living & Dining · 1 Kitchen
Remodeling Budget: Approximately HKD 390K (all materials and labor)
Construction Time: Approximately 4 months
The Brief:
Designed for a family of four, this compact home was reconfigured to solve the challenges of limited storage, inefficient living and dining space, and restricted circulation. The project focuses on small apartment interior design, smart space planning, and custom storage solutions to improve daily comfort and functionality. Through integrated layout planning, built-in cabinetry, and a warm modern material palette, the home now feels more organized, practical, and family-friendly.

Spatial Design Strategies
In compact home interior design, the living and dining area often needs to support lounging, dining, storage, and family interaction at the same time. This project uses an integrated layout strategy to unify the shared space, while a light wood palette and wood-grain finishes create a warm, modern, and visually expansive atmosphere. The TV wall is designed as a built-in custom storage feature, integrating the television and media equipment into tailored cabinetry to reduce bulky freestanding furniture and maximize storage efficiency. A floating shelf below adds functional display and storage while maintaining a lighter visual effect. Recessed spotlights and indirect lighting are layered across the ceiling to soften spatial proportions and enhance comfort. Together with carefully planned furniture placement, the design improves circulation and demonstrates how a small apartment renovation can balance storage design, family living, and contemporary residential aesthetics.
